Based on this hadith:
It is not permissible to sell gold for gold or silver for silver except in equal amounts, hand to hand. As narrated by Muslim (1584) (1587) on the authority of Ubadah bin As-Samit, may God be pleased with him, who said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said: Gold for gold, silver for silver, wheat for wheat, barley for barley, dates for dates, and salt for salt, like for like, equal for equal, hand to hand. If these types differ, then sell as you wish, as long as it is hand to hand. And in the narration of Abu Saeed: Whoever adds to it or asks for more has engaged in usury. The one who takes and the one who gives are equal.
Ibn Abd al-Barr said: “The agreed-upon Sunnah is that nothing of gold, whether it be gold in kind, bullion, jewelry, silver, or inferior quality, should be sold for anything of gold except in equal measure, hand to hand. Likewise, silver, whether gold in kind, jewelry, bullion, white or black, good or inferior quality, should not be sold for anything of it except in equal measure, hand to hand. Whoever increases or decreases anything of that, or introduces a delay [i.e., postponement of the price or the receipt of the gold], has consumed usury.” End quote.
Therefore, if you purchase via credit card / Visa / Mastercard / Mada or any other means where it does not come hand to hand, we do this trick which is permissible according to Sharia.
